Eucalyptus Is A Beneficial Essential Oil

Essential oils are concentrated oils that are stored in a plants cells, ducts, and glandular hairs that exist in all of its parts: flower, stem, leaves, bark, even the roots. These oils are one of nature's many unique designs that provide medicinal properties as well as regenerative benefits to humans. The high concentration of essential oils allows a drop or two to have a powerful effect on the body; therefore, it is important to use the oils as directed since many have varied reactions depending upon use. Of course, you should always check with your doctor or aroma therapist before using any essential oil, especially if you have any medical conditions or may be pregnant.

Eucalyptus is a versatile plant in that not only can it decorate our homes and provide a fresh aroma, but it also contains an essential oil that has many benefits. This clear, thin oil has a cool, soothing effect as it is applied to the skin to treat insect bites, irritations such as blisters, and other wounds. Eucalyptus is also helpful in relieving congestion and other respiratory difficulties. To ease sinus pressure, a small drop of this essential oil can be applied to the temples and between the eyes, being careful not to rub any into the eye itself. The fresh feeling the oil provides also makes eucalyptus oil useful in easing sore muscles when it is added to massage oil.
