Produced all over the world, honey can provide to alleviate many ailments without any side effects. Even though honey is sweet, if used in the right dosage diabetics can still use it for medicinal purposes. Mixed with cinnamon, honey can be a sweet homeopathic cure for problems ranging from heart disease, acne, hair loss to gas. Keep in mind that these have been passed from generation to generation, but the following cures have not been scientifically verified.

Arthritis

Mixing one part honey to two parts lukewarm water with a teaspoon of cinnamon, you can create a paste that will reduce arthritis pain within a couple of minutes. Drinking one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one spoon of cinnamon each morning and evening can help arthritis sufferers, even chronic cases if used regularly. This remedy has been studied at Copenhagen University, which found that a mixture of one tablespoon of honey mixed with half a teaspoon of cinnamon before breakfast helped arthritis patients. Seventy-three of the 200 in the study reported relief within one week, and within one month the patients could walk without pain.

Cholesterol

A daily dose of two tablespoons of honey with three tablespoons of cinnamon in 16 ounces of tea can reduce cholesterol by 10% within a short period of time. Similarly, putting cinnamon and honey on bread at breakfast helps keep arteries and veins leading to the heart clean preventing heart attacks.

Hair Loss

Creating a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon to apply to areas of baldness will help prevent baldness. Apply the mixture before showering and allow it to stay on 5 to 15 minutes before washing it off.

Gas

Honey and cinnamon have been used in India and Japan to treat gas, stomachaches, and stomach ulcers. Taken before a meal, the mixture of honey and cinnamon aid digesting even heavy meals.

Colds

To clear sinuses and relieve coughs, mix one tablespoon and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon and ingest daily. Another soothing concoction that may help you sleep as well as alleviate the cough is made of honey, whiskey and lemon juice.

Acne
