Reiki For Holistic Stress Relief

Work, traffic, family, money-each life event can create harmful stress. In turn, stress can lead to harmful effects on your health such as headaches, body aches, irritability, sleeplessness, and other problems. Everyone faces stress at some point whether we like it or not, so we need a method to cope with it or to eliminate it from our lives. Reiki (sounds like Ray Key), Japanese for "universal life energy," is the answer to relieving stress.

Reiki, referring to the life force channeled through the palms of the "patient" in contact with the practitioner, is an holistic approach to relieving pain and increasing well-being and relaxation in a stressed individual. An ancient natural healing system, Reiki uses either hands-on or hands-off techniques in which the practitioner acts as a conduit of energy for the patient. The flow of Reiki energy is affected by several factors such as the severity of the problem and the patient's willingness to accept change.

Although Reiki may sound spiritual, it is not a form of faith or religious healing. Reiki does foster spiritual empowerment and growth; however, it does not insist that the recipient believe in any particular belief system for it to work. This un-biased approach is available to anyone who may need to relax with warm and cool sensations that may resemble tingling, throbbing, numbness, itchiness or drowsiness.

Using Reiki symbols in energetic placements to the palms and crown, the Reiki Master performs a ritual that attunes the body's energy. Each body part receives a minimum of five minutes of devotion in order that every part receives equal attention. Each person has an endless supply of energy that will not be depleted even if used often to help recipients. Although mental involvement can direct the Reiki more smoothly to more needy body party, it is not necessary to become mentally linked-the energy will arrive where it is needed in either situation.

Balancing one physically, emotionally, and mentally, Reiki can be an effective tool in controlling daily life stress and relieving pain. Reiki can introduce life energy into the body of stressed or conflicted individuals, which will ease those complaints and return them to a balanced state. There are even treatments that allow Reiki Masters to heal from a long distance. These special energizing treatments are sent forward with a determined intention for a person or specific environment to create a relaxed, calm atmosphere. This could be especially useful for job interviews, social events, and other stressful life events.

Common Herbs And Some Specific Uses

Prostate Enlargement

Make a spread of Saw Palmetto, Licorice and Pumpkin Seeds. Place a half cup of fresh Pumpkin Seeds in a food processor. Add one Saw Palmetto Capsule contents (without the capsule), and add a few drops of Licorice extract. Blend until smooth. You may add a little Brazil Nut oil to make it spread easier. Eat a couple of tablespoonfuls every day. Make small batches at a time to insure freshness.

Psoriasis

Folk healers have recommended rubbing mashed Avocado on psoriasis patches. If nothing else, it is cool and soothing.

Shingles

Try using a mixed mint tea. Use lots of Lemon Balm plus ay other mints you would like: Hyssop, Oregano, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage, Self Heal, Spearmint or Thyme. Add a little Licorice as well. Drink it, of course, but also try applying it directly to the rash.

Sinusitis

Create your favorite vegetable soup. Add heaping amounts of Garlic, Onions, Horseradish, Hot Pepper and Ginger. Enjoy the dish while feeling your sinuses open.
