The Eyes Have It Iridology

The Eyes Have It Iridology

Have you lost that sparkle in you eye? Has someone you know had eyes turn green with envy? Iridology can help measure a person's physical, mental, and emotional status by analyzing the iris of the eye. Most people are well aware that the eyes become dull when a person is feeling under the weather. However, the eye can be a much more detailed map of the body. An alternative method of diagnoses called iridology analyzes the color, parts of the iris, pupil and sclera of the eye to determine changes in health. As we grow older, changes such as marks or clouds on parts of the eye can notate our aging or health status changes.

Dr. Ignatz von Pezcely first discovered a change in the eye related to an injury when as a child he found an owl with a broken leg. He noticed a black line in the owl's eye that changed to a white line after the leg healed. This occurrence embarked Dr. von Pezcely on a lifetime of studying iridology. He developed the first diagram of the iris in the early 1800's and is known as the father of iridology. Through time health professionals and scientists worldwide have studied iridology.

Increasing demand has called for more medical doctors and natural healers to take up a career in iridology. Iridology offers a safe, non-invasive method of painless diagnosis as opposed to riskier, more painful techniques such as x-rays or blood tests. As patients search for more natural methods, many opt for iridology's reliable source of information. When used in conjunction with other natural healing techniques such as homeopathy, nutrition, vitamin/mineral therapy, and herbal medicine, iridology can provide an effective treatment for a number of health problems and has been doing so in increasing proportions worldwide.

Using up to 20 different charts mapping the iris to exact parts of the body, iridologists analyze each individual. These maps may be individually developed or commonly used, but most use a variety and all share a general pattern. Each chart divides the iris into zones that correspond with different areas of the body; for instance, the right eye matches the right side of the body; the top half of the eye corresponds with the upper body; the center of the eye aligns with the digestive organs; the bottom portion of the eye is paired with the lower body, and so on. Organs that come in pairs (i.e. kidneys, lungs) are mapped on both eyes.

Each practitioner will have his/her individual techniques, so one must choose an iridologist who matches one's needs.
